P-Cals Pals Softball Week 3 Game Recaps

Monday, May 22

  On Monday night P-Cals Pals continued their hot start with a 22-4 win over the White Sox. The P-Cals hit 5 home runs on the night, 2 of them by outfielder Danny Trentsch. Ian Comack got the win while only allowing 5 hits.

  St. Peter’s Angels took on Criollos, and it was tied into the 5th inning, until the Angels scored 7 runs in the 5th and 6th innings. Right fielder Tim Scanlon was 3 for 4 on the night, including a home run and 4 RBIs.

  The Sachems built a 5 run lead in the 3rd inning and then held off the Patrick’s charge for a 7-5 victory. The Patrick’s scored 3 runs in the failed comeback. The Patrick’s socked 2 home runs on the day. Sheehy had a homer in the 1St. inning. The Sachems’ Tim Sliwinski went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.

  The Malden Bombers broke out in the 7th inning and scored 15 runs in one inning to go on to win 33-7. Tyler Grillo led the offense, smacking 4 hits in the victory. Grillo homered in the 2nd, singled in the 4th and tripled in the 7th.

Tuesday, May 23

  Criollos watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-3 loss to the Sachems. The Sachems scored on a double by Tim Sliwinski and a home run by Casey Flynn in the 1St. inning. Matt Fraser picked up the win after scattering 6 hits.

  The White Sox fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 19-3 loss to St. Peter’s Angels, who scored 8 runs in the 5th inning. The big inning for the Angels came thanks to a massive home run by Jesse Bruinsma. Erik Scola and Bruinsma both had 4 RBIs. The Malden Bombers seized victory in dramatic walk off fashion, thanks to a single at the end of the game to topple the Patrick’s. The game was tied at 12 with the Malden Bombers batting in the bottom of the 7th when Dana Zewiey Sr. singled on a 0-1 count, scoring 1 run. Zewiey Sr. went 4 for 4 at the plate. He doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th. Dana Zewiey Jr. led things off on the rubber for the Bombers. Zewiey Jr. lasted 7 innings, allowing 18 hits and 12 runs.
