pring is here and summer cannot be far behind. Summer af-
fords opportunities for outdoor activities among which is
rowing for those that like to be on the water for exercise, ther-
apy or just plain enjoyment. Community Rowing, Inc. is a Para-
lympic Sports Clubwith rowingprogramswithout charge toVet-
erans and their families. Lessons are available for beginners and
programs available for those with handicaps. Adaptations can
be made to equipment for any and all disabilities including but
not limited to: spinal cord injuries, amputees, brain injuries and
social/emotional impairments. You can row on the water or in-
doors or both. This facility is located at the Harvey Parker Boat-

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
April 21, 2017
The Malden Housing Authority (MHA) will conduct a public hearing to
discuss and obtain input relative to the submission of the MHA’s Pro-
posed FFY 2018 Annual and Five Year Public Housing Agency Plan
(PHA PLAN) as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD).
Proposed revisions to the MHA’s Section 8 Administrative Plan, Public
Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy, Public Housing
Lease and/or House Rules, and planned HUD Capital Fund Grant Pro-
gram construction projects will be presented for discussion during this
hearing.
MHAResident Advisory Board Members, Public Housing Residents and
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program Participants, elected and

This meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 beginning at 3:00

Movie Night at the Malden Public Library
J
oin us for Movie Night on
Wednesday, April 26, 2017,
from 6:00-8:15pm. We will be
showing an Oscar-winning
movie about La La Land. The
film stars Ryan Gosling, Emma
Stone, and John Legend and
is directed by Damien Cha-
zelle. The movie won six Os-
cars including best director,
best actress, best cinematog-
raphy, best original song, and
others.
Set in Los Angeles, an as-
piring actress Mia (Stone)
meets Sebastian (Gosling),
an old-school jazz musi-
cian, as they struggle to
make ends meet and pur-
sue their dreams. Rotten To-
matoes writes that the mov-
ie “breathes new life into a
bygone genre, with thrilling-
ly assured direction, power-
ful performances, and an ir-
resistible excess of heart.”
The Detroit News writes,
“[the movie] is a special, spe-
cial experience, and movies
like this don’t come around
too often.”
Rotten Tomatoes gives
the film a 93% approval rat-
ing and Rolling Stone writes,
“You leave [the movie] exhil-
arated by…nonstop inven-
tiveness, dazzled by Emma
Stone and Ryan Gosling,
and thrilled how they made
movies magic again.”

Mixer” (open to all mem-
bers and friends of MATV),
at Idle Hands Craft Brewery

will help facilitate a special
ArtsVisioning and panel dis-
cussion at the Malden Se-
nior Community Center. This
event is open to all artists
and folks interested in arts
and cultural development

will take place at the MATV
