At DiSalvo Park -
The West Revere Neighborhood Group received a Revere on the Move mini-grant in June to enhance the West Revere Urban Trail. The group’s first neighborhood project has focused to improve the visibility of the existing West Revere Urban Trail. By doing this improvement, the group aims to increase the number of trail users, showcase opportunities for physical activity, and encourage further appreciation of the neighborhood. Next time you walk the trail, be on the lookout for blue feet and orange mile markers painted within six crosswalks. The West Revere Neighborhood Group will celebrate the adoption of the Urban Trail and enhancements this Saturday, October 5th at 11AM starting at DiSalvo Park. We encourage everyone to come join the celebration and walk the trail with neighborhood residents. Revere on the Move (ROTM) is a community initiative co-led by the City of Revere and the Revere CARES Coalition working to increase opportunities for Revere residents to make healthy choices around food and physical activity.
The initiative is supported by a community task force that is invested in increasing awareness of the importance of healthy choices, creating opportunities that make healthy choices easier choices and developing the capacity of community residents to create positive change related to the built and food environments in their neighborhoods and across the city.
The ROTM Neighborhood Organizer, Dimple Rana, helps make connections between residents and support them in taking on neighborhood-based and citywide projects, and developing leaders to contribute to the work of making Revere a healthier city.
If you are interested in working with us directly in your neighborhood, we would be delighted to discuss potential projects neighbors might want to tackle. We appreciate everyone’s involvement to spread the word about Revere on the Move and making our city a healthier place.
