To whom it may concern:
I am sending this e-mail in hopes it reaches the right person to help with a serious issue. I have lived on Mountain Avenue for 13 years, before that, my grandfather lived in the same house that I now reside in. And for many of years, my mother grew up in the very same house.
Now for some time I have been fighting a battle of a serious issue in my neighborhood – all along Mountain Avenue, past Adams Street, the sidewalk has been in some much needed repair and or replacement. I have gone to my ward councillor about this and it was mentioned in one city council meeting and then washed away. I then decided to speak out again by sending an e-mail contacting the DPW and have been just pushed to the side – now my neighborhood, like many others, has growing children, elderly and just normal people who like to enjoy a nice walk and are unable to because the sidewalks have cracks, numerous bumps and just a serious lack of attention.
Now I ask why is it that if Revere cares about its youth and its residents, why does it continue to forget about the more important things like safety to its communities. I have sent an e-mail to my ward councillor on August 15th and never even got a response from him.
I ask for the help of the Revere Advocate to stress the importance of public safety to the neighborhood and not just my son, who has fallen because of cracks on the sidewalk – but the whole neighborhood. Your help would be appreciated.
