Police captain and former police chief Terence Reardon earned $316,958.22 in 2012, making him the top earner of Revere city officials. The year before Reardon made $172,408.

One of the reasons why Reardon made so much in 2012 is because he was bought out of his contract as chief of police. “He was paid $125,000 to be bought out of his contract,” Director of Finance George Anzuoni said. Reardon also made $55,349.28 in extra gross details.

Superintendent Dr. Paul Dakin comes in second of the highest paid officials with $215,854.86.

Eight out of the top 10 of the highest paid officials are from the Revere Police Department. Fire Chief Eugene Doherty made the list at number six with gross earnings of $165,126.07.

Current Police Chief Joseph Cafarelli earned $165,432.72, making him number five on the list.

Mayor Dan Rizzo made $117,765.11 in 2012. He cracks the top 50 of highest paid officials at number 45.
