Michael Piccardi Chosen as Revere’s First Employee in Mayor Rizzo’s Newly-Created Employee Recognition Program

In an effort to boost morale and improve customer service in city hall and other municipal buildings, mayor dan rizzo has created a “Revere Employee Recognition Program” wherein municipal employees will be recognized on a quarterly basis for outstanding job performance.  Employees will be selected by their supervisors, peers, and subordinates alike, and then, a Committee will review the nominations and choose the employee of the quarter.
With over twenty nominations this first time out, Michael Piccardi, an employee with the Purchasing Department was chosen as the first employee to be rewarded.  Michael was found to be an exemplary employee who goes above and beyond his job expectations on a daily basis.  Michael began his employment with city hall in the purchasing department in 2005.  His direct supervisor, Purchasing Agent Marie Zelandi stated that, “The fact that Michael Piccardi was chosen to receive the first City of Revere Employee Appreciation Award is not completely surprising.  Over the years, I have found Michael to possess a strong work ethic and a willingness to always accommodate co-workers and residents, many times requiring him to perform above and beyond what his job responsibilities entail.  It has been a pleasure to work with Michael and I am thrilled that he has been recognized in this manner.”
Michael will be recognized by the city council next Fall along with the other three employees soon to be chosen over the next three quarters.  Michael has been awarded with a Certification of Recognition by Mayor Rizzo as well as a Gift Certificate, courtesy of Antonia’s By The Beach Restaurant along with 4 hours of paid time off.  “I am happy with the Committee’s first selection and it is my hope that these types of recognition will increase morale and let our municipal workforce know how much their hard work, day in and day out, is appreciated,” stated Mayor Rizzo.
