Local journalism, namely, local newspapers, are currently facing a financial crisis, especially since COVID shut down and closed many of its local advertisers, many forever. Local publishers have been facing a 26% increase in costs of newsprint, closures of printing companies, and loss of advertising revenue which the newspaper relies on to stay in business. The Advocate Newspapers, publishing for over 33 years, is hoping to keep its print newspapers and online edition going for the next 33 years and beyond with its local and regional news and sports, exceptional photo coverage, as well as features State House news from Beacon Hill Roll Call from its local state delegates, Savvy Senior columns, the popular Trivia Challenge and so much more.
