Mayor: Mohegan Sun not welcome in Everett
By Brendan Clogston Mohegan Sun is willing to step in should Wynn Resorts be found unsuitable for a Massachusetts gaming license later this month, but they might not be welcome in the city, according to Mayor Carlo DeMaria. Mohegan Sun announced last week that it would be willing to buy Wynn’s Encore Boston Harbor property should the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) strip the company’s license. “If that determination finds Wynn Resorts unsuitable to hold a gaming license in Massachusetts, Mohegan Sun is prepared to participate in a process that would assign that license to another operator – and enter into negotiations with the appropriate parties to acquire the facility…

Downtown Revere gets festive with weekend Santa Walk
By Tara Vocino Approximately 1,000 people came out for the Santa Walk on Saturday afternoon, where they gave a $20 donation to travel down Broadway onto the finish line at City Hall for several hours of Christmas festivities. Organizer Priscilla Nickerson, who is the community liaison in City Hall, said that in its seventh year, the event has raised approximately $1,500 to beautify the city. She is looking into the possibility of purchasing oxygen masks for dogs and cats injured in fires that are in danger of smoke inhalation, and/or funding St. Mary’s concession stands when they are built. A week after Saugus’s tree lighting, MEG Foundation begins 8th Annual Christmas Tree Festival tonight By Mark E. Vogler The Saugus holiday season officially began a week ago (Friday, Nov. 30) on the lawn surrounding Town Hall with the town’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Festivities.
