CHA and students celebrate National Public Health Week

In celebration of this year’s National Public Health Week, the Department of Community Health Improvement at Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) worked with local communities to read a health-themed book to students. This year, CHA and Mayor Gary Christenson visited with Erika Israelson’s first grade class at the Ferryway School to read “Charlotte and the Quiet Place” by Deborah Sosin, a book that focuses on mindfulness and how we all should seek quiet in our daily adventures.

CHA is a vital and innovative community health system that provides essential services to Cambridge, Somerville and Boston’s metro-north communities. It includes three hospital campuses, a network of primary care and specialty practices, and the Cambridge Public Health Department. CHA is a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate and is also affiliated with the Harvard School of Public Health, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Tufts University School of Medicine.
