Life Scout Paul Albright of Troop 603 in Malden is a solid member of his community. He is a member of the First Lutheran Congregation, donating his time to the Bread of Life program and helping those less fortunate in his community. Albright’s goal is to become a member of an elite group of Boy Scouts, the Eagle Scouts. Becoming an Eagle is a commitment to family, community and country. This commitment lasts a lifetime, and carries a lot of responsibility as well.
Albright combined his faith and his passion to help others to organize a concert at his church to benefit the Bread of Life organization, and thanks to his fellow scouts, family and friends, this event was a huge success.
Reverend Emily Hamilton of the First Lutheran Church welcomed the many guests to the church last Sunday afternoon for the concert. Those attending the concert brought nonperishable food items to be donated to the Bread of Life community. Directly following the concert refreshments were served to everyone.
The Malden Food Pantry is located at 54 Eastern Ave. and is open Wednesdays 4-6 p.m. and Fridays 2-4 p.m.; a household may receive food once every four weeks. Proof of residency is required.
