EHS vocational program receives close to $500,000 as part of Baker-Polito Administration’s Skills Capital Grants program

Everett High School Vocational Director Nelia Braga is pictured with, from left, Governor Charlie Baker, Everett Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Kevin Shaw, and EHS Principal Erick Naumann last week in Salem, as the Baker-Polito Administration awarded $494,842 to the district’s new vocational program as part of its $10.9 million Skills Capital Grants program. In the fall EHS is greatly expanding its vocational program. The new, fully-formed department will consist of carpentry, culinary arts, health assisting, machine tool technology, hospitality management, and marketing programs. EHS will use the grant funds to purchase a wide array of state-of-the-art equipment, software, simulators and materials for the new dedicated space that will be created over the summer inside EHS.
