This past Thursday, October 25, more than half of the 8th graders at Ferryway School came for a few hours of pumpkin carving and family fun. Many little brothers and sisters came along, too, and with the generous help of Malden Stop & Shop, which donated over 30 giant pumpkins and a stack of carving tools, these teens carved, scooped and created some fantastic scenes. Of the 40-plus students, only a few had ever carved a pumpkin before, but the end results were fantastic and put on display for younger students to admire. Ferryway, committed to community and learning for all, hopes to carry on this tradition for years to come. Thank you, Stop & Shop Malden!
