Over 100 local residents and business representatives gathered at Henry’s Patio to kick-off this year’s City-Wide Holiday Gift Drive, a program created by the Malden Kiwanis, to benefit local children in need, including the 65 families Malden Kiwanis provides with toys and food each year and the children served by Housing Families. Due to the generosity of Henry Farmer, owner of Henry’s Patio on Broadway Malden Kiwanis and Malden Chamber of Commerce were able to raise funds and collect toys for local kids in need.
Three Floors Up, a local band donated their time and talent to provide music to the festive crowd. Besides donations from Henry’s Patio for a raffle, donations were received from the following businesses:
- New England Protective Services Agency, Inc. -3 Celtics tickets
- El Potro Mexican Bar & Grill – a Gift Card
- Wynn Casino – a Chelsea clock
Some winners of the raffles were: Joe Danca won the Chelsea clock; ToniMarie Cremone won the Celtics tickers; and the door prize, a baseball autographed by Mickey Mantle was won by Eric MacCuish.

The city-wide gift drive collection boxes are now in local businesses. If you missed the kick-off you can still help ensure that a needy child has a wonderful Holiday by donating a toy.
