Great Shofar Blowout looks to set Guinness World Record

Individuals of all faiths are invited to help set a new Guinness World Record for the Largest Shofar Ensemble at the Great Shofar Blowout. Individuals, adults and children ages 10 and older, who need a shofar can receive one at a shofar blowing training.  March trainings will be held on: Sunday, March 11, 11 a.m. at Temple Ahavat Achim, 86 Middle St., Gloucester; Thursday, March 15, 7 p.m. at JCCNS, 4 Community Rd., Marblehead; and Thursday, March 22, 7 p.m. at Temple Ner Tamid, 368 Lowell St., Peabody.  Additional trainings will be held throughout the spring and summer. To register for a free training, contact Ruth Budelmann at 978-740-4410 or email GSB@lappinfoundation.org.  The Great Shofar Blowout will take place on Sunday, October 14, 3 p.m. on the campus quad of Gordon College in Wenham.  Shofar trainings and the Great Shofar Blowout are free programs of Lappin Foundation, whose mission is enhancing Jewish identity across generations.  All are welcome.
