Letter to the Editor: State Senator Jason Lewis thanks supporters
Thank you to all the voters who placed their trust in me to continue to serve as your State Senator. I am honored to represent you.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers and student interns who enabled us to run a strong grassroots campaign. You made it possible for us to connect with tens of thousands of residents from all walks of life across our communities. Thank you for making countless phone calls, knocking on doors in sweltering heat and rain, donating money, hosting events, sending dear friend cards, holding signs, posting on social media, and selflessly contributing your time and energy to our campaign. You certainly demonstrated that democracy is not a spectator sport!
I want to congratulate Erin Calvo-Bacci and her supporters for all the effort they put into this campaign. It is not easy to jump into the political ring and requires a lot of sacrifice from both the candidate and her family. A healthy democracy is dependent on competitive elections and giving voters real choices.
I will continue to listen to, and work with, everybody in our communities. We may not always agree on every issue but we must respect each other, learn from each other, and find common ground to address the challenges facing us.
I look forward to getting back to work and doing everything I can to advocate for the needs of our communities and to improve the lives of working families across Massachusetts. I will continue to fight for dignity and opportunity for all.
I encourage you to reach out to me at any time to share your ideas, concerns, questions or feedback. Thank you again for the privilege of representing you in the State Senate.
