Boston, Mass. – The Massachusetts Building Congress (MBC) named Matthew Guarracino, the Business Development Manager at JM Electrical Company, as President for the 2018-2019 session at the organization’s annual awards gala on October 4. The celebration – which honored John B. Hynes III, the CEO and Managing Partner of Boston Global Investors, with MBC’s Skyline Award for Outstanding Achievement – was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Boston.

“Matthew Guarracino is a thoughtful leader who brings his unique expertise to the role of president of the MBC,” said Jan Breed, MBC’s executive director. “His background and knowledge of the Massachusetts building industry and his ability to connect and collaborate with our membership, including architects, engineers and contractors, is impressive. We look forward to working with Matthew throughout the coming year.”

In his senior role at JM Electrical, Guarracino directs the company’s business development strategy while also managing its financial and marketing efforts.

“Serving as an officer for the Massachusetts Building Congress over the past several years has been a professional highlight, and I appreciate the opportunity to contribute as the organization’s next president,” said Guarracino. “The Massachusetts Building Congress is one of Greater Boston’s top AEC organizations, and I welcome the chance to lead this group of professionals during one of our region’s longest periods of growth and development.”

Previously, Guarracino served as MBC’s president-elect and treasurer while serving on a number of committees. In addition to his leadership role with MBC, Guarracino serves on the Board of Directors for the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
