At approximately 12 midnight on July 9, a multivehicle accident was reported on Lynn Street between Holy Cross Cemetery near the Everett/Malden city line; reportedly, one victim was dead and at least one other was injured.

Though not much information had surfaced yet, it was heard from surrounding first responders that alcohol was allegedly involved in one of the two vehicles. Witnesses described the sound of a loud crash, which was possibly caused by the two vehicles colliding.

Lynn St. was closed for over three hours to complete a proper cleanup on the road.

The Malden Fire Department says that two people were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. As of press time, police had not released any additional information regarding the crash or identified the drivers involved.

The Massachusetts State Police along with the Malden Police are conducting a joint investigation into the accident in order to determine the cause and whether any charges will be issued as a result of the crash.
