PEABODY POLICE LOG-ARRESTS

 Nervous about dog breed

A resident on Cardigan Road expressed his personal view against a dog breed when he alleged that his neighbor’s Pit Bull dogs were running loose the night before and requested that the dogs be restrained on the owner’s property. According to the report, the caller stated he did not like the breed and stated he didn’t feel safe because of the DNA in the breed. The Animal Control officer called the nervous neighbor back and stated that his neighbor’s dogs have never been reported or had bitten anyone and that he couldn’t place a restriction on any dog breed since the state didn’t have a breed restriction in place. He stated he would follow-up with the resident’s complaint on the dogs running loose. He then warned the man to have his own dogs licensed right away.
