November 30 2018, Peabody Peabody welcomes Holiday Season with annual Stroll and Tree Lighting November 29, 2018 Community Development Director Curtis Bellavance and Peabody Main Streets President Deanne Healey ran a s’more-making station at Courthouse Plaza. Peabody residents Joseph and Janelle Noll with their eight-month-old daughter, Gianna. Peabody resident Matthew Bourgeois with his 11-month-old daughter, Evelyn. Matthew and Colleen Lawless with their one-year-old daughter, Kelan. The choir from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School sang Christmas carols on the steps of City Hall. Santa Claus and City Council President Edward Charest. Mayor Edward Bettencourt. This year’s Christmas tree was donated by Peabody resident Jonathan Whittier and his family. Whittier had grown the tree since it was a sapling in 1988. The blue spruce now stands 35 feet tall and weighs 1,800 pounds.
