MSBA announces final audit of 10 school projects totaling $153.8M-plus

Recently, State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg, who is Chair of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), and MSBA Executive Director/Deputy CEO Mary L. Pichetti announced that the MSBA Board of Directors has approved final audits for 10 projects from eight districts, totaling over $153.8 million in grants from the MSBA. The final audit stage is the last step in the MSBA building process. It represents the successful completion and closeout of a project.

“Every project undertaken by the MSBA is a step toward creating the 21st century learning environment that all Massachusetts students deserve,” Treasurer Goldberg said. “We are delighted to have made these important investments in Massachusetts schools.”

The Board approved the projects from the MSBA’s Core Program and Accelerated Repair Program, which consists of repairs or replacement to roofs, windows/doors and/or heat pumps. The combined grant value of the five audited projects was $153,898,024.

“Approval of the final audits brings these vitally needed projects to a successful conclusion, which benefits students all across the Commonwealth,” said Pichetti.

Two Revere projects received final audit approval at a Board meeting:

Abraham Lincoln School: Scope: Accelerated Repair — Total Project Budget, $3,639,790 —Total Facilities Grant, $2,202,465.

Beachmont Veterans Memorial School: Scope: Accelerated Repair — Total Project Budget, $2,589,358 — Total Facilities Grant, $1,607,354.
