State Senator Jason Lewis recently convened a Community Conversation to discuss the challenging topics of teen dating violence and sexual assault. He was joined (L-R) by panelists Mark Bergeron-Naper of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Dr. Malcolm Astley of the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund, Rebecca Mooney of the Melrose Alliance Against Violence and Kelly Dwyer of the Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. Audience members had the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion led by the panelists.
Those who have been affected by teen dating abuse can call 866-331-9474 or text “loveis” to 22522 to receive advice and help. Individuals and families seeking aid in domestic violence situations should contact Jane Doe Inc. by visiting www.janedoe.org. Anyone who is living in fear or affected by abuse or violence should always feel comfortable contacting their local police department, which has access to a variety of resources for survivors.
