    Bambinelli Sunday celebrated at OLA and SMG LYNNFIELD – On Sunday, December 16, both St. Maria Goretti Parish (SMG) and Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA) Parish celebrated “Bambinelli Sunday.” This tradition was begun by Pope St. John Paul II and is celebrated on the Third Sunday of Advent, also called Gaudete (“Rejoice”) Sunday. He invited people to come to St. Peter’s Square in Rome and bring their “bambinelli” or Baby Jesus figurines from their home crèches and nativity scenes.     Boston Marathon bombing survivors Patrick Downes and Jessica Kensky headlined the Family Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental, Boston on November 18 and read their children’s book, RESCUE AND JESSICA: A Life-Changing Friendship, the real-life story about a girl and her service dog. Rescue was also onsite to take photos with the children. Families had an opportunity to give thanks and give back, with a portion of event proceeds benefitting Franciscan Children’s in Brighton.

But this season might be more of a work in progress for veteran coach Scott MacKenzie’s team with a whole new starting five after last year’s group has long since graduated.
