    Upcoming Programs at the Peabody Institute Library   Eastern Coyote/Coywolf Ecology and Behavior Lecture The Peabody Institute Library is pleased to announce a 90-minute Eastern Coyote/Coywolf Ecology and Behavior Lecture on Monday, December 17 at 7 p.m. at the Main Library, which is located at 82 Main St. in Peabody. In this 90-minute picture and video presentation, Jonathan (Jon) Way will discuss the ecology and behavior of eastern coyotes and coywolves. Way has a B.S. (UMass Amherst), M.S. (UConn Storrs), and doctorate (Boston College) related to the study of eastern coyotes/coywolves.     Upcoming Events at the Peabody Institute Library Hand-Sewing for Kids The Peabody Institute Library is pleased to once again offer hand-sewing for kids in the Children’s Library at the Main Library (82 Main St.) during winter school vacations. Sessions will be held on Wednesday, December 26 at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, February 20 at 10 a.m. Back by popular demand, kids ages eight to 12 can learn basic sewing, such as sewing a button, seam or hem, and make a fun, simple sewing craft.     Library Pen Pal Program a hit with kids

    By Christopher Roberson For two months, many of the children who frequent the Peabody Institute Library have been writing letters to other children around the country as part of the library’s new Pen Pal Program. “We have a pool of libraries all across the country that we can send these really cool letters to,” said Children’s Librarian Alysa Hayden, adding that the idea for the program came from the Association for Library Service to Children. She said a “cardboard replica of a mailbox” was created for children to drop off their letters. Hayden said about 50 letters have been sent out since the program began in June, adding that letters…
