The cheers at Lynn Classical’s pool were deafening as Peabody High School took their first win – and first meet of the season – over Lynn Classical, 97-84.
The Tanners kicked off their winning evening with a win in the first event: 1M Diving. Peabody’s Theo Roan took first with a score of 161.70, followed by Bella Forte in third and Jonathan Atwood in fifth.
Peabody captured the win in the first swimming event of the night, the 200-yard medley relay, composed of Lauren MacPhail, Roman Buk, Captain Kirsten Currie and Captain William Connolly. Individual event winners include Jared Alphen (200 free), Currie (200 IM – State Qualifying Time of 2:18.13), Connolly (50 free – within one second of a sectionals cut time, 100 breast) and Captain Anthony Minichillo (100 free). Currie also qualified for sectionals in the 100 fly, with a time of 1:05.99. Alexander Chau teamed up with Alphen, Minichillo and Connolly to take first in the 200 free relay.
