BOSTON – Teamsters Local 25 hosted U.S. Representative Michael E. Capuano (D-Somerville) at its recent monthly membership meeting, just weeks after the union endorsed him for reelection in the 7th Massachusetts Congressional District. Addressing a packed crowd at the Teamsters Local 25 Union Hall in Charlestown, Capuano drew several standing ovations as he vowed to continue fighting back against attacks on organized labor and corporate efforts to weaken worker rights and benefits. Teamsters Local 25 President Sean M. O’Brien proudly introduced Capuano, praising his work to advance pension reform and key transportation infrastructure improvements, and his willingness to battle corporations and financial institutions on behalf of working men and women. The Local 25 membership meeting was also attended by Second Suffolk District State Representative Daniel J. Ryan (D-Charlestown) and James P. Henry, Director of Constituent Services for State Senator Sal DiDomenico (D-Everett). Both lawmakers are seen as critical allies of Local 25 in efforts to improve the lives of working class families. Founded in 1903, Teamsters Local 25 is the largest Teamsters union in New England, representing more than 11,500 workers.
