The Everett High School Crimson Tide football team continues their domination on the road with a powerhouse effort against the Lawrence High Lancers, 35-8, led by the offensive leadership of sophomore quarterback Duke Dillon, who tossed two touchdown passes, and junior running back Jaden Mahabir, who ran for two TDs.
The #1 ranked Crimson Tide, now 4-0, saw Mahabir rush for 14 carries for 65 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown pass from Doherty. The Duke went eight attempts for 16 completions for 129 yards against the Lancers. Senior sensation Mike Sainristil garnered six carries for 49 yards and two receptions for 44 yards, putting around 100 yards total, including a 20-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for a game highlight.
The Tide defense was strong throughout until the final quarter. Everett’s special teams made their presence known with a blocked punt by senior defensive back Diamani Williams recovering the ball in the end zone for a TD. Junior placekicker Abraham Betancourth was flawless with five PATs.
The Tide is back on the road this weekend against the Boston College High School Eagles (2-2), who are coming off an underdog win over Brockton, 21-13. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. on Friday at BC High.
