Hand-Sewing for Kids

The Peabody Institute Library is pleased to once again offer hand-sewing for kids in the Children’s Library at the Main Library (82 Main St.) during winter school vacations. Sessions will be held on Wednesday, December 26 at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, February 20 at 10 a.m. Back by popular demand, kids ages eight to 12 can learn basic sewing, such as sewing a button, seam or hem, and make a fun, simple sewing craft. No previous sewing experience is required – just come to have fun!

This program is free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. Please register on the library’s website (www.peabodylibrary.org), by calling 978-531-0100 or stop by in person! If you are unable to attend, please call the library to let us know. This program is very popular and others may be able to fill your spot.

 

Snowman Fun

The Peabody Institute Library (82 Main St.) is happy to offer a special snowman story time on Tuesday, December 18 at 4 p.m. Elementary-aged kids can join us for fun stories about snowmen and complete a special snowman craft to take home. All materials will be provided.

This program is free and open to the public, but space is limited and registration is required. To reserve your child’s free spot, please register on the library’s website (www.peabodylibrary.org), by calling 978-531-0100 or stop by in person.

 

Baby Story Time

Join us Tuesday mornings during the winter at the Peabody Institute Library for our popular program designed especially for babies! Baby Story Time will be offered every other Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Main Library (82 Main St.) on the following dates:  December 11, December 18, January 8, January 22, February 5, February 19, March 5 and March 19. Join us for stories, bounces, tickles, rhymes and songs in this lap-sit program designed for babies ages zero to 18 months.

Get your little one started on the road to literacy! This is a fun opportunity for caregivers to bond with infants and introduce them to the library. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other caregivers and let babies interact with each other. Babies love seeing other babies!

This program is free and open to the public. Registration for the program is recommended, but not required. We understand that babies can have unpredictable schedules; even if you don’t register, please feel free to stop by and enjoy this program with your child.

Toddler Story Time

Toddler Story Time is offered every other Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Main Library (82 Main St.). The winter dates are as follows: December 11, December 18, January 8, January 22, February 5, February 19, March 5 and March 19. Join us for stories, rhymes and songs in this popular, interactive story time designed for toddlers ages 18 months to four years.

Get your little one started on the road to literacy and show them how fun reading can be! This is a great opportunity for caregivers to bond with their toddlers and introduce them to the library. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other caregivers and let the toddlers interact with each other.

Drop-in Crafting Fun

The Peabody Library is pleased to offer kids time to create fun crafts in the Children’s Library! Drop-in Crafting Fun will take place at the Peabody Library (82 Main St.) several times this fall: December 6, December 13, January 10, January 24, February 5 and February 19. Craft supplies will be available from 5-7 p.m.

This fall stop by the children’s library for some fun making seasonal crafts. Whether it’s the holidays, winter or Valentine’s Day, we’ll help kids to create their own special project. All materials will be provided, and there will be a sample and librarian on-hand to assist. Stop by anytime during the evening to complete a fun craft that can be gifted, used for a decoration and more!

This program is free and open to the public and all supplies will be provided. No need to register, just stop by the library during the designated time.

 

Family LEGO Saturdays at the Peabody Institute Library

Calling kids and families of all ages! Family LEGO Saturdays continues this winter with select sessions on Saturday, December 1, January 12 and February 23 at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Library at the Peabody Library (82 Main St.).

Come build Lego creations together with other kids and families! We’ll provide the LEGO blocks, you bring your imagination. This is a great opportunity for families to unplug and enjoy their time together working on something cooperatively. (Note: Duplo & Mega Blocks can be provided for the littler family members upon request). Please register one family per line with the number of people in the family attending together (ex.: Smith Family – 3).

Monday Morning Fun

The Peabody Institute Library (82 Main St.) is offering fun on Monday mornings continuing this winter at 10:30 a.m. Join Ms. Katia for fun, themed story times every week. This program is great for kids ages two to five and their caregivers to enjoy stories, an easy craft and some fun experiences. Each week is a different theme, so there are plenty of reasons to enjoy each story time! Dates for Monday Morning Fun are as follows: December 3, December 17, January 7, January 21, February 4, February 18.

Preschool Stories & Craft

Join us on Wednesdays throughout the winter at the Peabody Institute Library for our popular program designed for preschool-aged kids to have fun! Preschool Stories & Craft will take place in the Children’s Library at the Peabody Institute Library (82 Main St.) weekly on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Join Ms. Patty for stories and crafts every Wednesday*. Our popular story time for kids ages 3-5 and their caregivers continues to offer interactive fun with stories, rhymes and other early literacy activities plus a craft that’s just right for preschool-aged children to complete

After-School Bingo

The Peabody Institute Library’s South Branch is pleased to announce three sessions of its After-School Bingo program! Join us on Wednesdays, November 28, December 12, and January 23 from 3:30-4:30pm for Bingo fun at the South Branch, located at 78 Lynn Street in Peabody.

Kids up to age 12 can play a few friendly Bingo rounds with the chance to win prizes. If you can count up to 75, you can play! Space is limited and registration is required. Please register online at www.peabodylibrary.org, by calling 978-531-3380, or stop by in person!
