May 20th Event Canceled Due to High Winds and Rain
MALDEN – The City of Malden today announced that the May-plewood Festival has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The forecast for Saturday, May 20 is calling for heavy rain and high winds, making it unsafe to hold the festival as planned.
“We know that this is disappointing news, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause,” said Ward Six Councillor Stephen Winslow. “We have already begun the process of discussing a new date for the festival in August, so we hope that you will be able to join us for the new date.”
The May-plewood Festival is a free, family-friendly event that celebrates the city’s historic Maplewood Square. The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 20 from 10am to 4pm on Maplewood Street.
“We look forward to celebrating with you in August,” said Councillor Winslow. “In the meantime, please stay safe and dry.”
