State Senator Sal DiDomenico joined the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for a legislative briefing alongside State Representatives Christine Barber and Mike Kushmerek. The briefing highlighted a bill DiDomenico filed alongside colleagues and NASW, the SUPER Act (S.160/H.1253), which will enable more providers to enter the social work field at a time of huge demand.
“Massachusetts is facing a well-documented shortage of behavioral health professionals, including social workers,” said Senator DiDomenico. “Social workers are some of the most essential workers in our state and we must do everything we can to support them and the people they serve. This bill will uplift the social work profession, bringing more providers into the field and empowering residents to access services from a diversity of providers.”
