Mayor Christenson seeks Member of Public Works Commission

Mayor Christenson is reaching out to Malden residents to fill a vacancy on the Public Works Commission. The three-member Commission provides general supervision and oversight of the Public Works Department. The Commission also issues curb cut permits, provides for the removal of solid waste, sets water and sewer rates and considers applications for abatement of water and sewer bills.

Public Works Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor with City Council confirmation and serve a term of three years. The Commission meets once a month on the second Tuesday of the month at 4 PM at City Hall, but may schedule additional meetings, as needed. Meetings are generally scheduled in the late afternoon or early evening for the convenience of residents.
