Malden student joins Boston School of Fashion Design’s 90th class

Boston’s prestigious School of Fashion Design (SFD) celebrates its 90th anniversary this year and welcomes the 90th incoming class with students from around Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and internationally. SFD offers a full education in fashion career essentials, as well as workshops for enthusiasts seeking to learn new skills without enrolling.

Malden’s Vanessa Villard (37) is among the 90th incoming class members and joins a class almost 30 strong, which includes high school graduates entering college for the first time and career-changing professionals seeking to learn new skills and follow their passions. Vanessa has been interested in the fashion industry her entire life. “Thanks to my grandmother!” she says, “She was a seamstress and made pretty dresses for all of her friends at church. SFD was the perfect choice for me! Everyone there is super kind and welcoming. It makes me feel right at home!”
