Mayor announces “Trash Holiday”

In an effort to assist residents with the excess trash generated during the holiday season, Mayor Gary Christenson is pleased to announce the return of Malden’s “Trash Holiday.” During the week of December 30 to January 4, residents may place regular household trash bags at the curb without the need for blue bags. Save your blue bags for another week!

Key Guidelines for Trash Holiday:

  • All trash must be bagged in store-bought trash bags.
  • No loose items or extra bulk items are allowed (standard one bulk item per home still applies).
  • Please limit trash to what was accumulated within the week – no home or garage clean-outs!

Recycling collection

Recycling collection remains unchanged. Residents are encouraged to consult Malden’s Waste Wizard database at https://www.cityofmalden.org/238/Trash-Recycling to determine what items are recyclable at the curb.

Mayor Christenson encourages everyone to take advantage of
