City staff, residents and community organizations joined together for a citywide clean up initiative
Special to The Advocate
On Saturday, May 17, the City of Everett joined together with multiple community organizations and residents throughout the city for the City of Everett’s annual Spring Cleanup event. From Rivergreen Park to Glendale Park and the many streets in between, participants joined in on this community effort to clean up the city’s neighborhoods. Participants collected over 50 bags of litter from various sites throughout the city, in addition to other items, such as discarded tires, car parts and vacuums. Following the cleanup activities, all who participated were invited to a complimentary barbecue to thank all of the volunteers for their hard work.
“I’m truly thankful for all of the volunteers who joined together for this important task,” said Mayor Carlo DeMaria. “Our Spring Cleanup event is always special because it brings so many of us together to achieve a goal that will have a positive impact for our community and environment. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and show your commitment to our city.”
