In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, which is October 5–11, 2025, the Malden Fire Department is offering a valuable service to residents. The department will provide free smoke detector inspections and installations for eligible households. Residents aged 65 years or older can take advantage of this free service by scheduling an appointment with the Malden Fire Department. The service is available for owner-occupied units in one or two-family dwellings or condominiums.
Eligibility requirements:
Must be 65 years or older
Must reside in an owner-occupied unit
Home must be a one- or two-family dwelling or condo
