North Shore Hispanic Association celebrates 10th year

NSHA is holding their Annual Gala Event to honor Hispanic Americans who make a difference.

The association was established as a 501c3 in 2016 by Gladys Rivera Rogers and a dedicated number of Hispanic American co-founders. The group was formed with the goal of empowering the Hispanic community by promoting cultural awareness, education and community involvement.

NSHA organizes the Hispanic Festival in Malden City Hall Plaza during Hispanic Heritage month every year in the month of September. This lively celebration includes Hispanic music, performances, dancing, food and vendors to celebrate the heritage of one of the most vibrant and colorful cultures in the US.

In the Spring, the Association organizes the gala event to honor Hispanic Americans who have made a difference. This year Pedro Martinez, Commissioner of Education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be honored alongside Captain Marisol Nobrega, of the Lowell Police department, Lucey Pineda of LUMA (Latinos Unidos en MA) Dinah Fajardo, Elections Administrator for the City of Malden, Adrienne Talamas of Malden Catholic, and Jose Miguel “Mickey” Rivera (posthumous) of the Malden Fire Department.

Please join us in celebrating their accomplishments and representing a culture that has contributed a great deal tour county’s history. For tickets, contact Gladys Rivera Rogers at no***************************@***il.com or 617-538-5049.
