Boys & Girls Club of Metro North announces free summer pool access, swim lessons and teen job opportunities for Malden families

The Boys & Girls Club of Metro North (BGCMN) is offering free summer pool access, free swim lessons and summer job opportunities for Malden residents at Hall Memorial Pool in Stoneham this summer. Supported by funding from the Adelaide Breed Bayrd Foundation, the initiative aims to provide safe, affordable summer opportunities for local youth and families. The Summer 2026 initiative will include:

  • Free pool memberships for eligible Malden families
  • Free swimming lessons and water safety instruction for Malden youth
  • Paid summer employment opportunities for Malden teens

The announcement comes at an exciting time for Hall Memorial Pool, which is currently undergoing major renovations through the Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR). Improvements include a rebuilt pool shell, expanded pool size, a new zero-entry design for improved accessibility and a renovated pool deck.

According to BGCMN, water safety remains a critical focus of the initiative. Drowning continues to be one of the leading causes of accidental death among children, and access to swim lessons can play a significant role in prevention efforts.

The Boys & Girls Club of Metro North will work closely with Malden Public Schools, community organizations, faith communities and youth-serving agencies to distribute information and connect families to available resources. Additional details about registration, swim lessons and summer hiring opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks.
