A big a deal in microelectronics Everett High School (EHS) science students attended the 57th International Symposium on Microelectronics, where they networked with industry and government professionals and learned about careers, college programs and internships. Held on October 2, 2024, at Encore Boston Harbor, the symposium was sponsored and organized by the International Microelectronics Assembly and Packaging Society (iMAPS). The event showcases microelectronics and advanced packaging technical content. EHS students learned about the field of microelectronics, semiconductors and packaging systems relevant to missile defense systems, autonomous vehicles and handheld electronics, including phones and video games. Students networked with leading industry and government professionals from companies such as IBM, Intel, Raytheon and Invidia. They also explored college programs, internships and degree programs in the semiconductor and microelectronic fields. EHS was invited to attend the conference in 2026, when it returns to Boston, and the Everett Public Schools is excited to continue working with iMAPS.
