City employees learned about the work of the Youth Development and Enrichment Department
The City of Everett recently held its Lunch and Learn for the month of April at Everett City Hall. This month’s program featured the City’s Youth Development and Enrichment Department to discuss the ongoing efforts to provide a variety of programs to Everett’s youth.
City employees had the opportunity to listen to Director of Youth Development and Enrichment John Russolillo present the department’s “Everett Youth Lifecycle” chart and how the chart is used to best serve each age range of Everett’s youth and young adults. In addition to Russolillo, Assistant Director of Recreation Mike DiPietro, Assistant Director of Youth Workforce Development Roberto Velasquez and Assistant Director of Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Eric Mazzeo spoke about their positions and the vital roles they each play. Those who participated were able to gain an increased understanding of each team member’s role in providing the necessary resources for Everett’s youth and young adults to receive the assistance needed to be healthy, happy and successful members of society. The chart that the department uses breaks down the age ranges of youth and the programs that best serve each category. The goal is to have programming available to serve young people through age 24 and repeat the process for each generation of Everett’s youth and young adults.
“Our department is committed to impacting all youth and guiding them through every stage of development to become successful members of society and proud representatives of Everett,” said Russolillo. “By nurturing their talents, providing mentorship, and offering opportunities for growth, we’re not just investing in their individual futures; we’re investing in the future of our community. Together, let’s ensure that every young person in Everett has the support they need to thrive and contribute meaningfully to our vibrant city.”
Lunch and Learn is a monthly program created and moderated by the City of Everett’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director, Cathy Draine. The program is an opportunity for City employees to come together, share ideas and experiences and discuss new topics while enjoying lunch. The series is a part of the City’s commitment to engage, educate and elevate.
