Stoneham, Melrose, and Wakefield Health Departments Join Forces with Community Partners to Host Vital Narcan Training
Stoneham, MA — In an ongoing effort to combat the rise in opioid overdoses, the Health and Human Services Departments of Stoneham, Melrose, and Wakefield, alongside dedicated community partners, are hosting a Narcan training event. Scheduled for Monday, May 13th, 2024, at the Stoneham Public Library, the event will commence promptly at 6 PM.
Open to all members of the public, this initiative offers attendees the opportunity to acquire Narcan, the lifesaving opioid overdose reversal medication. Participants will receive comprehensive training on when and how to administer Narcan effectively, equipping them with the skills necessary to intervene in critical situations.
The event will feature a knowledgeable team on hand to address any questions or concerns, ensuring attendees feel confident and empowered in their ability to make a difference. To foster inclusivity and accessibility, Spanish and Portuguese interpreters will be readily available to facilitate engagement for all community members.
