Police arrest Chelsea man on alleged drug and gun charges, multiple warrants

Special to The Advocate

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, Everett Police detectives from the Special Criminal Investigations Unit executed several search and arrest warrants at several different locations as a result of an extensive monthslong undercover investigation led by the Everett Police Department. As a result of the investigation, a male party identified as Jendry Morales, 60, of Chelsea, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for several charges. He was also charged with several narcotic-related offenses from the results of the search warrants.

Search warrants were granted for a residential address in the City of Chelsea and the Town of Saugus. Those search warrants resulted in the seizure of 1 firearm, approximately 1.5 kilos of suspected cocaine and approximately $1,500,000.00 in United States Currency, the largest single case money seizure in the history of the Everett Police Department!

Valuable assistance was provided by the Everett and Peabody K9 Units, the Saugus Police Department and the Chelsea Police Department. “I would like to commend this unit and all its detectives and supervisors for their outstanding work in this operation, and I would like to thank all participating agencies that assisted us in the case. This is another example when you work as a team, good things happen,” according to Everett Police Chief Paul Strong. “We will continue to have a zero-tolerance policy on drugs being sold in Everett and we will never stop arresting individuals who come into our city trying to sell this poison no matter where they live.”
