Long serving Pop Warner president retires

MALDEN – Mayor Gary Christenson stopped by the Annual Pop Warner Banquet to surprise longtime President Helen Kipnis on her well-deserved retirement. Helen, a lifelong Malden resident, served Pop Warner for 23 years, serving for 20 as its President. She has put in endless hours ensuring that the Pop Warner program was successful and financially stable. All the while, she never turned a child away for financial difficulties and always worked hard to teach students the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Helen will be remembered for keeping coaches, board members and parents in line, and holding Pop Warner to higher standards than any other youth football program in Eastern Massachusetts. Mayor Christenson presented Helen with a citation on behalf of the City of Malden and thanked her for her contributions to our youth and our city.
