Maldonian to run Falmouth Road Race in support of brain injury

The Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIA-MA) was pleased to announce that it will be returning to compete in 52^nd Annual ASICS Falmouth Road Race with Team BIA-MA on Sunday, August 18, 2024. Team BIA-MA will have 26 runners for this iconic race, which is an important annual fundraising and awareness event for the organization.

BIA-MA welcomed Danny Seng, of Malden, Mass., to his first run of the Falmouth Road Race for BIA-MA. Early last year, his mother suffered a traumatic brain injury that led to her needing cataract surgery. Watching the one woman who has made him who he is today overcome all the struggles and challenges is truly inspiring. Through all the speech therapy sessions, rehabilitation, appointments – she still finds the time every single day to give him a call and ask me how he is doing.

Danny commented that “she is the reason why I chose to run for Team BIA-MA, in support of her and those who have been affected and for the families that take time out of their busy lives caring for the ones they love”.

“We are excited and thankful to have our largest number of inspiring runners who have come together determined to accomplish their personal milestones and to raise awareness for brain injury,” said BIA-MA CEO Nicole Godaire.

Though the Falmouth Road Race is not intended as a charity race, the “Numbers for Nonprofits” Program allows nonprofit organizations like BIA-MA to both fundraise and participate.
