Ward 6 Councillor to host community meeting on March 11

Regarding plans for the installation of speed humps

Ward 6 Councillor Stephen Winslow will hold a Ward 6 Community meeting regarding plans for the installation of speed humps on Elwell Street and Beachview and Olive Avenues. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Linden School Cafeteria. At the meeting the City Engineering Department and Malden Police Traffic Unit will present the plan and proposed locations for the speed humps. For decades residents of the Maplewood Highlands have been calling for safety improvements to address speeding along these narrow, winding and hilly streets, which mostly lack sidewalks. The proposal will consider locations for humps akin to those that dramatically reduce speeding on Bainbridge Street.
