MALDEN, MA – On December 7th, Malden’s Mystic Side Opera Company will present a spectacular Winter Concert at the Malden Public Library for the second time, sponsored by The Friends of the Malden Public Library and the Malden Historical Society. Renowned Latvian mezzo-soprano Natalja Sticco of Mystic Side and Brian Landry, tenor, will be accompanied by musicians Susan Thorne Gagnon, flutist, and Eleena Gelfgatt, pianist.
All are invited to attend the free concert at 2:00 pm followed by a social hour with refreshments in the Ryder Gallery of the Malden Public Library. The one-hour program will include winter-themed classical works that encapsulate the spirit of the season as shared across cultures.
Natalja Sticco, a Malden resident, is well-known throughout our community and worldwide. The Winter Concert celebrates the magic and merriment of the season with arias and duets from classic operas and operettas performed in Italian, French, Spanish and more.
Selections from well-known and beloved operas such as Tosca, Samson and Delilah, Pagliacci, Rigoletto, and Carmen will reflect the joyous and festive tone of the season. The concert will conclude on a high note with gorgeous duets full of harmony and cheer.
Through this special repertoire, the performers will perfectly capture the spirit and emotions of the winter holiday season. The Friends of the Library and Malden Historical Society are delighted to offer this musical gift once again with Mystic Side Opera Co. to celebrate the holiday season and Malden’s cultural richness.
