RevereTV Spotlight

Stay “In the Loop” with what is going on around Revere by watching the latest PSA video on YouTube, Facebook and in between programming on TV. This week, learn about a few community events to look forward to as the warmer weather approaches. The first event was this past weekend at Revere Beach. The Revere Beach Kite Festival was a free, family-friendly event for all ages. Kids were invited to decorate their own kite and watch it fly. The first 300 kids under the age of 12 received a free kite, while others were encouraged to bring their own. All participants enjoyed live music and local vendors. RevereTV was able to cover this event and will do so for most throughout the summer. A highlight reel of the kite festival will soon be posted to all RevereTV outlets.

HYM is the development company for the Suffolk Downs project. If you have been by the Beachmont neighborhood lately, you might have noticed that construction has begun, as a few buildings are already visible. HYM held a public neighborhood meeting at the Beachmont School last Tuesday to discuss some road changes due to traffic mitigation plans to ease the effects of this major development. Residents were able to voice concerns and get some questions answered. This meeting was streamed live on RevereTV and is now replaying on rotation over the next few weeks.

The Revere High School Building Committee meetings can now be watched live on RevereTV. These meetings currently take place on Zoom and are hosted by LeftField, which is the company working with the City of Revere on the development of a new high school. This latest meeting was about the timeline for schematic design of a new high school at the current site on School Street. To watch this meeting, head to RevereTV’s YouTube page or watch on television if you are a cable subscriber.

Other local government meetings now replaying on RTV GOV are the Public Arts Commission, Traffic Commission, Public Safety Sub-Committee, Appointments Sub-Committee and Revere City Council. The Revere Board of Health meeting on Thursday, May 25, will soon be scheduled in the meeting rotation. If you are a Comcast subscriber, RTV GOV is channel 9. If you subscribe to RCN, watch channels 13 and 613 for all city meeting coverage. If you don’t have cable, you can watch all of RevereTV’s meeting coverage on YouTube at your convenience.
