Families of elementary students recently came out for a STEM Family Fun Night, where parents and kids teamed up for an evening of hands-on learning and creativity. The event was all about getting families involved in what students are learning in the classroom in an interactive way. Activities included the following:
- Candy DNA model building
- Binary Code Bracelets
- Marshmallow Catapult engineering challenge
- Snap Circuits
- Bristle Bots
- Robot Race demonstration
- Salt art
- Slime making
- Tangrams and math activities
Events like this are a big part of the school’s effort to spark interest in science and engineering early on, while also strengthening the connection between students and their families.
