Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Mayor Carlo DeMaria recently announced that due to impending rain, the city will be postponing its annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 2 at Glendale Park to the following Friday, July 9.

“It is unfortunate that we have to postpone our celebration,” said DeMaria. “This was a tough decision. However, due to the rain, we feel it would be best to postpone to ensure that the community will be able to enjoy the festivities. We look forward to gathering to celebrate our nation’s independence, even a few days later.”

The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. at Glendale Park, and fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. There will be music, games, face painting and more.

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served beginning at 6 p.m. in the park along with refreshments. Ice cream, slush, and desserts will be available following the grilled food.

Please note that Elm Street will be shut down between the police station and Russell Street. Parking is available at the Everett High School parking lot and the DCR parking lot in addition to on-street parking.
