In the December 30 edition of the Everett Advocate, “City Council Hears Testimony From Rape Survivor; Asks Councillors To Remove Sex Offenders From City Payroll,” it was incorrectly reported that the police department didn’t know about an alleged rape by former Everett firefighter Albert Murphy. Rape survivor Wendy Poste said both the fire and police department knew, adding police were the first to know. The Advocate regrets this error.
