My name is Darren Costa and I am announcing my candidacy for Everett City Council, Ward 3.

I am a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years of experience in financial planning and budgeting. My experience in both Government and Corporate settings has prepared me to represent YOU, and your best interests. I am passionate about constituent services and will regard your satisfaction as my ultimate metric for success. I am an independent voice that represents the diversity of Everett’s families, students and seniors.

I’m committed to protecting Ward 3 from the risks of overcrowding. I will collaborate with the Planning Department and the Zoning Board of Appeals to achieve a comprehensive plan for Ward 3. I’m committed to improving our traffic hazards and parking issues. I will research and propose creative solutions to our parking shortages.

I will diligently audit the City’s operating budgets to fund additional outreach and activities for our students and seniors. I will advocate to appropriate budgets in a fiscally conservative manner in order to fund appropriate training for our students. I commit to advocate for technical trade education and technology training. I will encourage students to prepare themselves to compete in tomorrow’s economy. I’ve visited our Seniors, I heard your voices. You need transportation and enablement. Most of all, you need inclusion and advocacy for more social functions that prioritize your needs.

My goal is to create a culture of innovation. I will be patient to add value and remain collaborative with our City Council and Administration. I am a team focused individual who will earn their trust and respect. Change is not easy, but nothing worth doing is. I am a symbol of change and advancement, a leader who knows how to function across multiple departments. I am a fresh set of eyes, which discourages group think and tunnel vision. I would encourage creativity and individual responsibility. I can lead the modernization efforts in Everett in a way that benefits OUR community. I humbly ask for your vote on November 2nd as I commit my energy to use this position to represent you.
