On Tuesday, November 2, the voters of Everett have an important decision to make. We must choose a direction for our city in voting on who will lead Everett as Mayor. While this is an important decision, the choice is clear. Carlo DeMaria is the best choice and the right choice for the voters.
Carlo DeMaria has proven himself as an effective and compassionate public servant. His tenure as mayor has been transformative for our city and our future only looks brighter with his continued service. Too often voters only get a sense of an elected official in the weeks leading up to an election – that is clearly not the case with Mayor DeMaria. Carlo is deeply committed to Everett, and he is involved in our community 365 days a year. From community events to neighborhood meetings, Carlo is there. In our schools, our parks and civic centers, Carlo is there. Mayor DeMaria understands that the decisions he makes as mayor impact all of our lives, and as such he knows that being constantly present, talking with and listening to Everett’s residents, is the only way to ensure that those decisions are the best for everyone who calls Everett home.
Mayor DeMaria has shown that he will never stop fighting for the people of Everett. From his work to bring in Encore Boston Harbor to navigating the challenges of 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, Carlo DeMaria has met the moment and kept our city moving forward. As mayor, Carlo DeMaria has been instrumental in managing smart development, targeting development to the needs of the city while not increasing the number of cars on our roads, and creating affordable housing units for our seniors. His vision for our future – to improve our public transit system, to bring in thousands of new life science jobs, to clean up and transform the Exxon site, to improve our public schools and expand the vocational programming – is certainly an ambitious one. But Mayor DeMaria’s track record has been one of thinking big, thinking bold and delivering for Everett.
It is for these reasons that we are proud to endorse Mayor Carlo DeMaria’s reelection campaign in this year’s city election on November 2.
